Another New Design... Pastel Swarovski Crystal

Normally, I am not much for pastel, girly colors. But when I completed this set, I was quite satisfied because everything I make is based on nthings that I want to wear. So this designs, even though started as an experiment, it's beautiful and wearable - anytime. This set uses 6mm and 4mm pastel crystals. All metal components are sterling silver.

This set is perfect for mothers. Switch out these colors for your child(ren)'s and/or husband's birthstone. Have a piece of your family with you all the time.
Not a mother, just choose your favorite colors. Great from proms and weddings.

If you are interested in this set, get 20% OFF retail price ($42) when you reference previewing this item on this blog. I hope you all like it!

Busy Days... Happy Days

Well, the last couple weeks have been super busy again with family, new designs and starting my professional career again after being a stay-at-home mom for the last seven months. Being a stay-at-home mom is great. I recommend every mother trying it, even if for a short time like I did. After setting career and life goal, and then accomplishing them years ahead of schedule, I knew I wanted to do more with my life than just work for "THE MAN". Late last year, I got tried of the company I was working for. The people were great, but management was the worst - I too was management, but the youngest at 26 with visions (attainable). I was constantly spinning my wheels and talking to block walls.

But that is not the main reason for leaving. Financially, my husband and I were able to live one income. Sure that prevented us getting a new car and buying a bigger house - a slight delay in getting those things. But I felt it was important to know our son who was about to me 3 and wasn't potty trained yet. My mission was to be like my mother and mother-in-law (I know, no woman want to be like their mother or mother in law, but hear me out). Both our mothers were stay at home moms. And even though when I was in high school, college and even post college, I looked down on "house wives", after having my son and working more hours than being with my family, it was important to BE a family and not just a paycheck. So after 7 fun months at home, I am ready to go back to work and them my husband will get a shot at being "MR MOM". I think he will do great. He is a great father and the bonding between father and son will be great for the 2 of them.

So anyway, like I said... I landed my dream job. The good thing about looking for a job when you are not in a rush to find a job, like in my situation where we can afford to have me home, I was able to be more selective in the kind of jobs I applied to, responded back to after phone interviews or even go on interviews with. After leaving my last job and reading tons of Working Mother magazines, I had a pretty good idea of the type of company I wanted to work for. I feel so blessed.

Once I am there for a few months, my husband will take over the reigns at home. Of course he gets the easy job now that Aidan is fully potty trained.

Wish us luck on our new journeys.

Where did the time go???

Wow! It;'s been a week since my last blog entry. Where did the time go? I guess it's been a busy week. I had a craft fair last saturday. It was a horrible day for an outdoor craft show - very cold for May and lots of rain.A lot of vendors left early, but I stuck it out until about 3pm (scheduled to end at 4) when the rest of the vendors started to pack up. The rain and cold weather made it a slow and less than profittable show, but all in all, it was a good experience.
It was the first year for this venue; they hope to do it again next year. And with the low space fee and great potential exposure - the location was great - I'll definately be back next year. If it had been a sunny, warm day, the customers would have been there. I hope to do a lot more venues this summer. Boltwood Marketplace in Amherst (MA) seems to be a good one as well as the Ware Farmers Market.
So, if you should be in the Western Mass location, check out these and other great venues for locally made and grown products/produce.

SIDE NOTE: Tomorrow I start a short story which I feel is very touching and thought provoking. So please drop in again to read and give feedback. ~hearts~

New Listing

I have been working like crazy over the past few weeks to create new pieces for the Open House I had last weekend and for a craft show I have coming up on Saturday. I don't think this craft show will be huge, but it's my first one in over a year and it's for a really awesome cause. The show is to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network being put on by Walmart in Westfield, MA. Even though I, like a lot of people do not support Walmart for all the cheap labor used to manufacture it's products, I think this is a good thing that they are doing to raise money and awareness. So I am listing a few of my designs on here for everyone to see. I hope you all like them. Once the show is over, I will post the outcome. Already the weather forecast is calling for rain, so you should be able to guess how this will all go down. Wish me luck. Happy Blogging

Open House/Jewelry Party

So, I just had my first Jewelry party of the year and it was a hit. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law held the party for me. It was good for a family member to start off the season as there were a lot of new elements I was experimenting with. I am so glad my family did this for me. They are super cool and supportive people. I hope that we can do another party at Christmas time. Even thought the party was going to be mostly family, I was super stressing; because it was family. I wanted everything to be perfect. No job is worth doing unless it's done well and that is the attitude I take into all task. Sure it makes a lot more stressful, but that attitude makes victory all the more sweet.

I am so glad this one is over though because I learned a lot and now know exactly how I want the show to run. I try to take some lesson from every experience and build on it - whether the experience was good or bad.

This does it for today's wisdom. I am hoping to start posting new pictures of my work for all to see.
